Volume 4 Cervical Dystonia
-Free from the unbearable symptoms of spasms and involuntary movements of her neck, and from medication.-
Intractable disease 'Dystonia' is a brain/nervous system disorder without effective remedial treatments. Goshinjo therapy has shown its effectiveness towards some cases of dystonia which are difficult to explain with a modern medicine perspective. In August 2013, a woman found my column at the Kihodo website on the internet. She says, 'I was saved by your column.' The following is her account of a 5-year battle with dystonia and a miraculous recovery attributed to Goshinjo therapy.
Orthopedic traction didn't help but made it worse. 'My neck does not feel like it is my own.'
Sayaka Mori (fictitious name, age 37) from Tokyo had been suffering from cervical dystonia for approximately 5 years. The initial symptoms were severe stiffness and discomfort of her neck, so she went to an orthopedic specialist at a hospital nearby.
'At the hospital, I was told that it was cervical vertebrae disorder. I had traction treatment, Methycobal and vitamins for softening the muscles, and also had poultice applied. I had traction treatment a couple of times a week, however, the more treatment the worse the result. Gradually the abnormality of my neck worsened and felt as if it was not mine. Spasms in my neck got so bad that my neck moved involuntarily.'
She didn't suffer any symptoms whilst sleeping, but stiffness of her neck gradually returned after she woke. During the daytime she felt as if her neck was 'not hers but someone else's' and suffered from severe spasms and involuntary movements.
'My sickness might not be cervical vertebrae disorder…..'
Sayaka investigated on the internet and found that similar symptoms were also common with the disease named 'Dystonia'. Dystonia is a difficult to cure disease which makes the whole body or partial muscles contract/harden involuntarily by a disorder of the brain/nervous system. Soon after that she was diagnosed with 'dystonia' at a neurology clinic.
She was convinced with that diagnosis, however, that was the start of her more painful battle against the disease, as there is no specific treatment.
She had to stop taking antiepileptic and psychotropic medications due to her pregnancy.
At the neurology clinic, Sayaka started taking new medications such as Rivotril (antiepileptic) along with laser treatments applied to her neck. However, not only did the laser treatment and medication not work, the symptoms worsened, and she experienced numbness of her limbs which was one of the side effects of the medication.
'I want to stop taking the medication.'
Sayaka became aware about Botox injections whilst she exchanged information with others who suffer from similar symptoms on the internet. Botox injections are used to loosen muscle tone by injecting very small amounts of botulinum toxin to the affected muscle. It is applied to some dystonia sufferers despite it damaging the nerves and causing various side effects. She also found a doctor in Tokyo who is well known for his dystonia treatment on the internet. Sayaka went to see this doctor to see if she could obtain any improvement.
'I asked the doctor to give me a Botox injection. The doctor touched my neck and said, "It won't work for you because your case is psychogenic." I also asked for his advice on having a baby and I was told to take Depas but not Rivotril.'
She became pregnant after stopping the laser treatment and changing the medication to Depas which was an anti-anxiety drug. She was happy to be pregnant, however she struggled with the symptoms of dystonia during her pregnancy because she had stopped taking the medication. She had the baby in January, 2013 at the age of 36.
Infant raising was not easy. 'I want to end my life.'
After the delivery of the baby, Sayaka's battle against dystonia began.
She resumed taking the medication because her symptoms became more severe due to picking up her baby. She tried various types of medications which were supposed to be effective for dystonia.
One of them was an antiarrhythmic drug called Mexitil. It worked only for a while and turned out to be not so effective, so she changed it to other medications… then, she started taking Myslee which is a soporific sedative.
'Myslee worked well in the beginning but over time turned out to be not so effective, and I ended up taking more than 20mg per day despite its recommended maximum dose of 10mg per day. I had to take an even greater dose before my periods. Then, 20mg per day was not strong enough to control my symptoms, the spasms spread to my mouth from my neck. I could not speak well and became worried and depressed.'
Being unable to look after her just born baby made her depressed. She could not stop thinking about escaping from that situation. She admitted that she had been mentally on the edge even though she was supported by her husband, her mother and her parents-in-law.
'I thought to myself repeatedly that I could never bring up my child with such severe dystonia. I wished I could end my life. I wanted to end my life.'
Sayaka said, 'Although I can't remember everything clearly around that time because I was so unstable mentally and my mind was unclear due to the medication, I do remember that I could not stop the medication even though I wanted to and I really wanted to end my life'.
'I want to get out of this.'
Sayaka desperately searched for other treatments on the internet. One day she came across a column from Kihodo written by me. The cramping symptoms of that case in the column sounded similar to her case and Kihodo was close enough for her to visit at that time. She thought, 'It must be my fate.'
On September 3, 2013, Sayaka visited Kihodo for her first treatment.
The feeling of 'my neck' came back and Sayaka successfully ceased taking medication.
'After the first Goshinjo treatment, my whole body felt dull and I had to stay in bed,' Sayaka described. She could visit Kihodo only once a week for the first month due to her financial situation although she was recommended more frequent visits by Master Kida, 'You'd better get treatments as often as you can because of the amount of accumulated Jaki (Evil life energy) in your body.'
Just once a week of Goshinjo therapy gave her some amazing results. She could reduce her medication of Myslee from 20mg to 15mg.
Despite wanting to visit Kihodo more frequently, Sayaka's financial situation did not allow it. However, she could increase her visits to twice a week in October because of Master Kida's special financial consideration. This resulted in her severe symptoms easing very rapidly and she could reduce the Myslee dose even further.
Sayaka's note on October 11, 2013 said, 'I could reduce the dose of Myslee from 20mg on September 3, 2013 (her first Kihodo visit) to 12.5mg now.' It is miraculous for a dystonia sufferer for the symptoms to ease whilst reducing the medication.
Sayaka explains, 'It is very difficult to reduce medications for dystonia sufferers. The medication gradually becomes less effective, however, it helps to ease the symptoms and it is the only thing we can rely on. The medication is only effective for about 3 hours when it works at its maximum and never gives you a feeling of fully being recovered. For years I hadn't had the feeling of having my own neck. However, after undergoing Goshinjo therapy, the feeling of my own neck returned like "This is the feeling!" I could feel that Jaki (Evil life energy) was expelled from my hands during the treatments and when Master Kida eliminated Jaki I felt that electricity went out from my palms and my body felt lighter. The more I underwent Goshinjo therapy the longer I felt my own neck had returned, so I could feel that I was getting better and I could reduce the Myslee dose without worrying. That gave me a lot of hope.'
Sayaka's dramatic recovery amazed her mother, her husband and his parents who had all supported her. They were all convinced about the effectiveness of Goshinjo therapy and were all happy to help her with further treatments. Sayaka managed to pay Kihodo in full with their help and continued her visits for treatment twice a week during November and December.
Sayaka displayed a rapid recovery and she had some days in December that she didn't need any medication. Her maximum dose was reduced to 5mg of Myslee and didn't have to take any more even prior to her menstrual cycle.
Sayaka was planning to move into a newly built home which was remote to Kihodo in January. To prevent slowing her recovery she decided to purchase Goshinjo implements with the help of her father-in-law in December. Her recovery was accelerated with her self-administered therapy of Goshinjo at home and she could completely cease taking the Myslee medication before moving. Since then, she has never taken any medication.
I am sure that dystonia sufferers find it difficult to believe that she had ceased taking her medication just 4 months since first visiting Kihodo, but this is true.
'Improved by Goshinjo therapy,' noted the doctor in Sayaka's medical record.
In January 24, 2014, Sayaka spoke about Goshinjo therapy with her doctor who is famous for his dystonia treatments.
'I don't know much about life energy,' said the doctor, however, Sayaka showed him her Goshinjo implements and how to use them, 'My spasms dramatically improved with this therapy and I hardly have any symptoms without taking Myslee, so I don't have to take medication any more. This is completely due to Goshinjo therapy.' The doctor noted in her medical record, 'Goshinjo therapy eliminated her symptoms and ceased taking Myslee.'
'There is a celebrity who also happens to be one of the doctor's patients. His stiffness and spasms from dystonia were so severe that he could not sit normally on a chair in the waiting room. His recovery was announced via the media that he was able to even drive a car after receiving treatment at the hospital. This is well known among dystonia patients.
However, I had met him at Kihodo and heard him say, "I could not even sit on a chair up until I came to Kihodo for Goshinjo therapy. Goshinjo therapy helped with my recovery." This is very different from the story that has spread among the people. He recovered by Goshinjo therapy treatment at Kihodo and not by any hospital treatment. I didn't doubt it because I knew how effective Goshinjo therapy could be.
I had to tell the doctor about Goshinjo therapy. I told the doctor how effective Goshinjo therapy was and that I also had met the celebrity at Kihodo. If doctors don't know which treatments work, other dystonia sufferers cannot be saved.'
I have to admire Sayaka's courage to tell the truth to the doctor thinking about other sufferers.
Realization of how harmful electromagnetic waves could be to your health.
When I reported about other dystonia sufferers in this column (available only in Japanese), I repeatedly wrote about the theory of Master Kida which is 'Whatever the cause is, the main substance of dystonia is Jaki (Evil life energy).' Jaki can be described as excessive electromagnetic energy in modern science terms. The symptoms will be improved naturally if the electric potential of the brain is lowered by eliminating Jaki using Goshinjo therapy to correct the field of life energy---this is the theory of Goshinjo therapy. Then, in the case of Sayaka, what caused her Jaki?
Sayaka told me that she had 'something in mind which caused the Jaki in her'.
'When I was young, I loved talking over the home phone and on my mobile. I used to speak with my friends for 7 to 8 hours at a time. I am left handed so I held the phone with my left hand and put it to my left ear. When I was in my 20's, my left eye suffered from dry eye and the white of my left eye turned into a jelly-like substance. The symptoms of my dystonia were mainly to the left side of my neck, so I have to say that the cause must be from the electromagnetic waves from the portable handset at home and the mobile telephone.'
Master Kida said, 'Sayaka carried a huge amount of Jaki in her head, face, chin and neck. Goshinjo therapy just eliminated the Jaki from her body. Her symptoms improved as the Jaki was eliminated.'
Goshinjo therapy helped Sayaka to recover from dystonia and fixed her dry eye which she had suffered from for a long time. She now hardly uses the phone so as not to inhibit her recovery.
'Goshinjo implements are precious, "They are more precious than my life".'
On February 28, 2014, I asked Sayaka how she was.
'Most of the time I have the normal feeling of "my neck". It's 80% even when I don't feel well. Reaching 80% without any medication is amazing and if I'm concentrating on something it is 100%, I have no symptoms at all. As soon as I feel any stiffness, I administer Goshinjo therapy to myself and the symptoms disappear. I still visit Kihodo twice a month for treatment. Getting treated at Kihodo is very different from administering Goshinjo therapy to myself and it makes my whole body feel better and lighter. Goshinjo therapy helps me to maintain my body at more than 80% constantly. I have tried various medications and I could only get an 80% improvement for around 3 hours, and I still felt that it wasn't my neck when it reached 80%. The effectiveness of Goshinjo therapy cannot be compared with that of medication.'
Not so long ago, Sayaka attended a gathering of dystonia sufferers. One sufferer who got better with Botox said to her, 'My neck straightened by Botox, however, the feeling in my body stayed the same. I'm worried because I cannot keep getting Botox.' Sayaka showed the sufferer the Goshinjo implements and told her about her recovery with the therapy, however, the sufferer assumed that her case wasn't so severe.
'My symptoms were not light. Every dystonia sufferer believes that his/her case is the worst. I understand dystonia is a terrible condition. However, I'm determined that whatever or however they think of me I am going to continue to tell people how effective Goshinjo therapy is for dystonia sufferers and I am also going to recommend Goshinjo Self Hand Therapy.'
Sayaka asked me to write this column so that desperate dystonia sufferers can find Goshinjo therapy easily on the internet just as she managed to do so.
Sayaka always carries the Goshinjo implements in her pocket and applies them to herself when her child is asleep, taking a bath, and or watching TV… They are the biggest supporters. 'At Kihodo, many patients of incurable diseases including dystonia get better with Goshinjo therapy. I believe that Goshinjo therapy helps them live their lives healthier. Therefore, "Goshinjo implements are more precious than my life." Not precious next to my life. I am so grateful to my father-in-law who purchased the Goshinjo implements for me. I am also grateful to my mother, husband and mother-in-law who supported me when I was unwell. Goshinjo therapy helped me get my health back physically and mentally. Now I enjoy raising my child. From now on I will look after my family's health with Goshinjo therapy.'
Is it also the effect of Goshinjo therapy? I'm pretty sure that Goshinjo therapy helped with Sayaka's internal strength. Her facial expression was also full of fressness.
